Every person on earth needs access to clean water. Less than one percent of the earth's water is fresh, making the protection, treatment and distribution of this water a huge responsibility. But with a degree in water and environmental technology, you can help keep water clean and accessible for entire communities.

Students studying water and environmental technology should have a passion for the environment and an interest in biology. After graduation, they'll find diverse career opportunities at municipal utilities, wastewater treatment plants, regulatory agencies, environmental groups, and engineering firms. Workers may operate or control an entire process or system of machines, often through the use of control boards, to transfer or treat water or wastewater.
